November 2014, Founder Mariela Reyes took a leap of faith, and left her position of 20+ years to open the doors of A-Mari-Mix, Fresh Mex Fusion- a concept based on authentic Mexican food with Cuban flare, incorporating homemade seasonal ice cream and cocktails.
Driven by a passion for cooking quality food, and a shortage of authentic Mexican flavor in the South West Miami-Dade area, Mariela sought out to provide guests with an innovative concept that consistently puts out a tasteful take on classic items. With the help of daughter and Front of House manager, Vanessa Perez, the mother-daughter dynamic duo has created an environment that feels like home with a menu that’s nostalgic and anything short of freshness and flavor. In its 7 years, A-Mari-Mix has been awarded “Best Tacos in Florida” by the Florida Palette, “Best Burrito in Florida” by the New Times and participated in SOBE WFF!

A-Mari-Mix is moving! Six years and a global pandemic later, A-Mari-Mix has become an almost 5 star restaurant in the heart of Westchester, a place for returning guests of many years. Growing more and more each month, we want to continue to provide great food and service while adapting to the fast pace environment we're becoming, we have decided to close our Westchester location to move to a NEW & IMPROVED Kendal Lakes Location. Opening April 19th 2022.

Meet The Owner
Mariela Reyes a Cuban immigrant whose partner’s Mexican heritage, lead her to discover her passion for Mexican food. Combining Cuban, Mexican and American cuisine, Mari quit her office job of 20+ years and went after her dream of opening her own restaurant. Six years and a global pandemic later, A-Mari-Mix has become an almost 5 star restaurant in the heart of Westchester and a place for returning guests of many years.

Opening in the heart of Westchester, A-Mari-Mix had to adapt to its Cuban environment. Thus the fusion was born, making typical Cuban meats like Ropa Vieja and incorporating maduros turned out to be a hit and we ran with it.
FunFact: A-Mari-Mix once offered a Pan con Bistec on the menu.
